Encouragement and Fast Help Stopping a Divorce

If your marriage is in crisis, I would IMMEDIATELY do these things within the next hour:

  • Pray for your marriage, for guidance, and surrender your marriage to Jesus Christ.
  • Call Divorce Busting’s counseling below and make an appointment.  It will usually be in a day or two.
  • Get at least one of the e-books on saving marriages. These are not all Christian books but most help with relationship skills, and they can often help you make a change that can help turn things around fast.  The Mastery Guide I know is highly recommended, and the Webb Collection contains many excellent resources.
  • Important: If an affair of any kind is involved, get Break Free From the Affair because affairs present special marital problems.
  • Identify one specific technique or change to make and start applying it today ASAP.

All together these may cost as much as a half hour or an hour of divorce attorney time.  The important thing is not so much how many of these e-books you collect, but how much you read and learn and put into practice.  You should be able to ask yourself what specific actions you are doing now to save your marriage and know what those actions are.

Then identify and celebrate every improvement because it will encourage you to keep going. Share this with others because it will help reinforce it in your own mind as well as help others.

Once your marriage is out of crisis, I would make an appointment with Dr. James Talley for followup.

As a spouse, you have significant advantages in saving your marriage.

  • God is more willing to bless your marriage than an affair or a divorce.
  • Your spouse once fell in love with you.
  • You have a history together nobody else shares.
  • You have loved ones pulling together with you praying for your marriage to succeed.
  • Also, the tremendous pain and loss of divorce is a strong deterrent to divorce.
  • People usually fall in love with those who make them feel good about themselves.
  • There is hope in Jesus Christ for those who trust in Him regardless of circumstances.

So hope is not lost! These e-books are not meant to be a substitute to prayer and a good relationship with God. These are focused on rapid development of marriage saving

NoDivorces is not associated with any counseling service, and I’m not a counselor myself, but here are some counselors who specialize in marriage and family restoration and seem to be very good at it:
